Our story

How it started

It started on a beach one summer, with a group of friends. We wanted dinner at one of Milan's great restaurants, the kind everyone talks about. We tried to book, and the first open table was almost three months away. Yet we knew that every night someone cancels at the last minute and a table sits empty. That's where Tavolo al Volo came from: a way to help great restaurants fill every table and not leave opportunity on the table, and to give people who love good food a chance to get in at the last minute.

Is Tavolo al Volo live?

Not yet. We are preparing the launch in Milan and looking for the first restaurants to start with. If you sign up, we will tell you as soon as we are ready.

Who gets the alert?

Everyone on that restaurant's list, at the same time. The first to confirm gets the table.

How much does it cost for a restaurant?

€5 + VAT per table actually filled through Tavolo al Volo, any party size. Alerts are free and unlimited, with no commission per cover, no monthly fee, no activation fee and no contract. You never pay more than €99 + VAT in a month. Pilot restaurants get the first 60 days free. WhatsApp alerts, once available, are included at no extra charge. This is indicative launch pricing: final terms will be in the written agreement with each restaurant.

Do you take tables from booking platforms?

No. Restaurants report their own open tables. We do not copy data from third party sites.

If I sign up, am I guaranteed a table?

No. We alert you when a table opens up, but the seat goes to whoever confirms first. It is a chance, not a guaranteed booking.

How do diners get the alert?

By email, free: it is the first channel and always stays available. WhatsApp alerts coming soon for diners who choose them: you can already say so in the form.

How do I leave the list?

Any time. Every email and every alert will include a link to unsubscribe; you can also email [email protected] and we will delete your data. Every 12 months we will email you to ask whether you want to stay on the list: if you do not confirm within 30 days, we delete your data. In any case we never keep it longer than 24 months after your last activity.
